AMITAVA NAG is an independent film critic residing in Kolkata. AMITAVA has been writing on cinema since 2001 for Silhouette, The Hindu, Outlook, News18, The Statesman, The Wire, Himal Magazine etc. He is one of the founder-members of the film magazine SILHOUETTE (www.silhouette-magazine.com) and is its current editor.

AMITAVA also writes poetry and short fiction in Bengali and English. He has authored Radha, a collection of short stories in English, কিছুটা সিঁদুর বাকিটা গোলাপ (KichhuTa Sindur BakiTa Golap) – an anthology of Bengali poems and a collection of Bengali short stories আত্ম-অবমাননা বিষয়ক এক দুই কথা (AtmaAbamanana Bishayak Ek-Dui Katha). His first anthology of English verses and a collected English translation of Soumitra Chatterjee’s poems are awaiting publication.
